Mike carried on the tradition of the Sirianni family as an outstanding student athlete at Indianola High School where he excelled in both football and baseball. As a quarterback for the Indians his senior year, Mike passed for over 1,400 yards and 18 TDs with only 3 interceptions. He also rushed for 266 yards and 6 rushing TDs earning himself first team CIML quarterback recognition and the team’s MVP in 2000. On the diamond, Mike was regarded as one of Indianola’s elite baseball players for Coach Blythe. His junior and senior seasons, he earned first-team, all-state recognition and was selected as the team MVP and a member of the elite all-state team his senior season. Regarded as one of the best hitters in Indianola history, Mike still holds school records for single season hits (65), career hits (154), single season doubles (21) and career double (43) and a career batting average of 429. After his senior season, he was selected to play in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association all-star series. Following high school, Mike went on to play baseball at Arkansas State University where he set the school record for runs scored in a season. His love and passion for the game continues as a student baseball coach for Arkansas State.
