As a key member of four CIML Conference championship teams, Mark Bresnan was at his best when he was called upon to run the open 800 or run an 800 Meter leg as a member of a relay unit. Three times, he ran on Drake Relays championship relay teams – the 4 x 800 in 1995, the 4 x 800 again in 1996 – and ran the anchor leg on the Medley Relay in 1997. He was the silver medalist in the 800 Meter Run in the 1997 State Track meet. Mark was also a member of the 4 x 400 Meter Relay, which established a school record of 4:21.04 in 1997. Mr. Bresnan was a three time qualifier for the State Cross Country championships and was a member of the 1996 CIML Conference championship team. Continuing his track career at St. Olaf College, he was a three time All-American in the 800 Meter Run and was the runner-up in the 800 Meter Run in the 2001 NCAA III Indoor meet and was an eight time Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion. He owns St. Olaf College school records in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 1:51.04 and in the 600 Meter Run and as a member of the 4 x 400 Meter Relay. He will continue his education next fall when he begins work in his PhD in American Literature after being named an NCAA post graduate scholar.
