Many of our highly successful Indianola wrestlers who competed at our state’s elite level got their early start in our community’s outstanding youth program known as Mat Tribe. For 2007 IHS graduate, Logan Edgington, it was a family affair. Both of Logan’s parents volunteered countless hours to the youth program so Logan and other boys could have the opportunity to reach lofty goals.

With a tremendous foundation established early, Logan became one of the most dominant wrestlers to represent the Purple and Gold. As a four year letter winner, Logan ended up with a career record of 143 wins and 22 losses with 97 wins coming by fall. In addition, Logan was no stranger to the awards podium at the state wrestling meet. As a sophomore he finished 4th, moved up a spot to 3rd as a junior, then was defeated in the championship match his senior year. At the conclusion of his senior year, Logan was one of only five IHS wrestlers to place at the state tournament three times. In Logan’s final appearance as an Indian, he led his team to a third place finish at the state dual meet. Logan credits his high school coaches and father for their positive influence they provided him as well as the great support he received from his family.

Logan’s parents are Brent and Debbie Edgington. Logan is employed as a carpenter and resides in Indianola with wife Stephanie and their son Connor.
