The Indianola High School Athletic Hall of Fame showcases many outstanding student/athletes and coaches who displayed their tremendous talents during their careers at IHS. However, 2011 Hall of Fame inductee, Jean Bunting, neither coached nor competed as an athlete for the Indians.
For 20 years, Jean was much more than the secretary to the athletic director. Her enthusiastic commitment and loyalty for our high school athletic programs went well beyond being a job. Just as a mother is proud of her family, Jean was passionate about doing everything she could to promote and help organize our “athletic family” to be the best. Whether it was working with athletes, coaches, parents or the community, Jean displayed tremendous skills and determination in making sure the IHS athletic department ran efficiently and proudly.
Success is achieved through outstanding contributions at various levels. Indianola High School is proud to recognize Jean and is grateful for her twenty years of outstanding service. With tonight’s induction, Jean joins her husband Keith as a member of our distinguished Hall of Fame.
Both Jean and Keith are currently retired and live in Holiday Island, Arkansas. The past 3 years they both have been Marshalls at the LPGA golf tournament in Rogers, Arkansas. Jean continues her involvement with high school athletics by helping the Eureka Springs (Arkansas) High School girls’ golf team, who happened to finish 2nd this year in the Arkansas state golf tournament. Jean and Keith’s family includes: son Brad, daughter Jodi Bunting Leibowitz, granddaughter Alex Bunting, and grandsons Cam and Trey Bunting and Henry Leibowitz.
