One of Indianola’s finest athletes, Brennan Davey is a 2011 graduate of Indianola High School. A multisport athlete for the Indians, Brennan made his name during the fall on the football field earning first team all conference. Brennan was a defensive back and wide receiver for the Indians totaling 29 receptions for 582 yards and 5 TD’s his senior season. Brennan definitely was special when it came to special teams, he thrilled the crowd scoring three times on punt returns and ended the season with just over a 20 yard average on punt returns. His focus during the spring season was on the oval and during his junior season broke the school record in the 400 meter with a time of 48.3. At the IHSAA State Meet Brennan was at his best; leading the Indians with State Championships in the 800 Run, and was a member of the 4×400 State Championship Relay. He also placed second in the 400 M. Dash and the Indians 4×800 Relay team which also finished second. The 2010 track team, coached by Mark Tucker tied for second in Class 4A. Brennan continued to work hard his senior season, but unfortunately an early season injury hampered the season. He fought through the injury and was still able to compete as a member of the 4×800 relay team that walked off as Drake Relays Champion. During his high school career, Brennan was a four time Drake Relay Champion; 4×400 in 2009, 2010 and 4×800 in the track 2010, 2011. After high school Brennan went onto the University of Iowa where he earned four letters running both indoor and outdoor track for the Hawkeyes. He was a regional qualifier in 2012 and 2015, placed third in the 4×400 Relay at the Big Ten Conference Meet. Brennan made history for the Hawkeyes, placing in the top 10 in Iowa Track and Field history in four different relay; 4×400, 4×800, Sprint Medley, and Distance Medley. Brennan’s personal best in the 400 Meter was 47.15 and 4×400 split of 45.8. Several coaches that Brennan would like to recognize are Coach Tucker, Coach Kluver and Coach Wharton. Brennan graduated from the University of Iowa in 2015 and currently is an Account Executive at Housby Mack and currently lives in Des Moines.
