indianola-3

The #5 Indianola football team is competing with a district championship on the line tonight, hosting the Toreadors of Boone. The Indians are currently in a three-way tie for first place along with Bondurant-Farrar and Norwalk, who match up in district play in Bondurant, and a win by the Bluejays in conjunction with an Indians win would award the district title to Indianola, while a Warriors win would put Norwalk in first. The Toreadors come in with just one win on the season, but head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the Indians will not be overlooking their opponent.

“We will go out and play our game. We’ve gotta establish that run game again. It feels like every other week I’m saying that but that really makes our passing game go, and it’s a lot easier when our offense is scoring points. And we want to continue to see that swarming style of defense that’s disciplined, that tackles, well, and getting a bunch of Indianola hats to the football.”

The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA and the Indianola Activities YouTube channel, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30pm, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30pm.
