Linn-Mar stops Indianola’s state hopes in upset, 65-64

The roller-coaster game was fitting for the wild ride Indianola has been on this season. The ride, however, came to a shrieking halt as Linn-Mar came into Indianola and ended the 19-win Indianola season with a 65-64 upset. Jackson Severson hit two free throws with 10 seconds remaining to take the lead as the 10-13 Linn-Mar Lions advanced to face Ames in the Class 4A Region 6 final this week.

The last Little Hawkeye Conference home doubleheader is tonight for the Indianola basketball teams as they host the Mustangs of Dallas Center Grimes. The #6 Indians boys can clinch at least a share of the conference title tonight with a win, and they will try to match their hard-fought win on the road earlier this year where they defeated the Mustangs 46-45 on a game-winner at the buzzer.

INDIANOLA BASKETBALL IN ACTION TODAY HOSTING GRINNELL

The Indianola basketball teams are back home tonight after four straight road games, hosting the Tigers of Grinnell. The Indians boys dropped their first conference game of the season last Friday at Norwalk, but will try to replicate their dominant second-half performance against the Tigers earlier this year where they held Grinnell to just sixteen points and scored 36.
